Mechanical seal (umbilical cord) is an electrical part that is used to prevent the leakage of liquids and gases from the water pump or electric motor housing. This part consists of two parts: a fixed part that is connected to the pump housing or electric motor and a movable part that is connected to the motor shaft. These two parts face pressure and friction and make the fluid or gas inside the chamber unable to leak out. Mechanical seals are made in different types and materials, depending on the type of pump, fluid, pressure, temperature and operating conditions.
